Wedly Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 18, 2026
Last updated: May 18, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Twinstars Studio LLC (“Wedly,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use the Wedly iOS app and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
If you have questions, email help@wedly.org.
2. Who We Are
Wedly is published by Twinstars Studio LLC, a California limited liability company.
- Email: help@wedly.org
3. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Account information. Email address, password (stored as a salted hash by our authentication provider), and an internal user identifier. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive the identity information you authorize Apple to share with us.
- Profile and onboarding information. Display name, role, optional avatar image, and information you provide during onboarding (such as wedding date or timeframe, location, planning phase, approximate guest-count range, and a partner’s first name and role if applicable).
- Wedding content you create. Names, dates, locations, tasks, timelines, day-of events, activity feed entries, invite codes, and other content you and your collaborators add to your wedding workspace.
- Subscription information. Subscription status, entitlement, and transaction metadata (product identifier, purchase date, store) reported by Apple In-App Purchase. We do not collect or store payment instruments — all payments are processed by Apple.
- Device and technical information. Device model, operating system version, app version, locale, approximate country derived from IP address, and identifiers necessary to operate the app (such as authentication session tokens and, if you grant permission, push notification tokens).
- Usage and diagnostic information. Information about how you use the Service, including session events, navigation patterns, feature interactions, and crash diagnostics. Usage events do not include the free-form content you type into Wedly.
We do not knowingly collect biometric data, precise geolocation, health data, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or the contents of communications outside the Service.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including authentication, syncing, and collaboration features.
- Process subscription purchases, verify entitlements, and handle trials, restorations, and refunds.
- Send notifications you have opted into.
- Diagnose and fix bugs and crashes.
- Understand how the Service is used in aggregate so we can prioritize improvements.
- Protect the Service and our users from fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Communicate with you about support requests and essential service messages.
- Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests from regulators and law enforcement.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. How We Share Information
We share personal information only with the following:
- Service providers (subprocessors). Third parties that provide infrastructure, authentication, payments, analytics, push notifications, and crash reporting on our behalf. Each is contractually required to protect your information and to process it only on our instructions. A current list of subprocessors is available on request by emailing help@wedly.org.
- Apple. Subscription purchases are processed and billed by Apple under your Apple ID. You manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID. Apple’s privacy practices are described at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
- Other users you choose to share with. Anyone you invite to your wedding can see the wedding content you share with them, subject to the visibility settings configured by a planner.
- Legal, safety, and business transfers. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Wedly, our users, or others. If our business is transferred (for example, by merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets), personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify users via in-app notice and an updated effective date.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for a limited period afterward as needed to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
- Active accounts. Wedding content is retained until you (or another planner on the wedding) delete it, or until you delete your account.
- After account deletion. Personal information is removed from our production systems following your request; backup copies are purged on our standard backup rotation.
- Subscription transaction records may be retained longer where required by tax and accounting law.
- Diagnostic and usage data is retained per our service providers’ default retention windows.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — request that we delete your account and personal information.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. (Wedly does not engage in either; no opt-out action is required.)
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny service or charge you more for exercising your rights.
- Withdraw consent — for processing based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email help@wedly.org from the email address associated with your account, or use the in-app Settings → Delete Account option. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
8. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
This section applies if you are a California resident.
Categories of personal information collected. In the past 12 months, we have collected the following CCPA categories:
- Identifiers (such as email, internal user ID, device identifiers, IP address)
- Customer records (such as name)
- Commercial information (such as subscription status)
- Internet or network activity (such as crash and usage diagnostics)
- Geolocation (coarse country derived from IP only)
- Sensitive personal information limited to account credentials used solely to authenticate you
We do not collect biometric data, precise geolocation, health data, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or the contents of private communications outside the Service. We do not draw inferences for profiling or targeted advertising.
Sources, purposes, and disclosures. Sources: directly from you; from team members who invite you; automatically from your device. Business purposes: as described in Section 4. We disclose personal information for business purposes only to subprocessors described in Section 5.
“Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” Wedly does not sell your personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. No opt-out is required because no such sale or sharing occurs.
“Limit the Use of Sensitive Personal Information.” We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require an opt-out under the CPRA.
California rights. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and request portability of your personal information; the right to opt out of sale and sharing; the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and the right not to be retaliated against for exercising these rights. To exercise them, email help@wedly.org. You may use an authorized agent; we may require verification.
Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83). We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct-marketing purposes.
9. Other US State Residents
If you are a resident of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or another US state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you have rights similar to those described in Section 7 — including access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, and certain profiling.
Wedly does not engage in the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, so no separate opt-out is provided. To exercise other rights, email help@wedly.org. Residents of states with appeal rights may appeal a denied rights request by replying to our denial email.
10. Children’s Privacy
Wedly is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. The App Store age rating for Wedly is 17+. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact help@wedly.org and we will delete it.
11. International Users
Wedly is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Wedly is not actively offered in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. If you access the Service from those regions, we rely on standard contractual safeguards with our subprocessors where applicable.
12. Security
We take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and least-privilege internal access. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee that unauthorized parties will never access your information, but we will notify affected users and applicable authorities of breaches as required by law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we will provide in-app notice and, where required by law, obtain fresh consent before applying the change to you. If you do not agree to a change, you can delete your account.
